With $25,000, a sponsored profile in Taste of Home Magazine, and a trip to NYC to cook with Carla Hall on the line for the Favorite Chef People’s Choice winner, it’s no wonder thousands and thousands of competitors have come together to celebrate food culture while competing for the epic prize package.

Because we know there are questions, we at Colossal would like to clarify a few things.
Favorite Chef is not a scam. It’s a real Competition, with real competitors, a real prize, and a real charity that will receive a substantial donation at the end of the Competition.
Colossal operates the Favorite Chef Competition on behalf of DTCare, a 501(c)(3) charity that will subsequently grant donations from the Competition to the James Beard Foundation. Carla Hall, Taste of Home, and JBF do not run the Competition.
Colossal does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties competitors’ Personally Identifiable Information (PII) unless we provide competitors with advance notice and receive their consent to do so. See the Favorite Chef Privacy Policy here.
